  • Build Skills
    Engage in fun online coding tutorials, learn about role models in tech, and design solutions to real-world problems.

    Join a safe and supportive environment of peers and role models where girls learn to see themselves as computer scientists.

    Girls learn all about bravery and resilience so that they can thrive in their careers and lead the way in tech.
  • WHAT IS THE SUMMER IMMERSION PROGRAM?
    This 2-week virtual program teaches girls and non-binary students the computer science skills they need to make an impact in their community while preparing for a career in tech. Participants will get exposure to tech jobs, meet women in tech careers, and join a supportive sisterhood grounded in tech.
    • Open to ages 14 to 18 years old

    WHAT IS THE SELF-PACED PROGRAM?
    This 6-week virtual program teaches girls and non-binary students the computer science skills they need to make an impact in their community while preparing for a career in tech. Participants will get exposure to tech jobs, meet women in tech careers, and join a supportive sisterhood. For students who are more advanced with Computer Science, or who completed SIP last year, we will be offering more advanced courses in Python with a focus on cybersecurity.

    Women make up 50% of the Canadian workforce but less than 25% of STEM jobs.

    Code From Home!
    We know that parents, educators, and girls are looking for support and connection during these challenging times. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to school closures and significant disruption to daily life, Girls Who Code is making CS educational activities available for download free of charge, to anyone who wants to access them.
