Clubs Program
BUILDING SISTERHOOD & MAKING AN IMPACT
Clubs for students to explore coding in a fun & friendly environment.
What's a Club?
Clubs are free programs for all 3rd-12th graders of any skill level to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world. Clubs are completely free and offer fun activities through a flexible curriculum that adapts to your unique needs. Clubs can be integrated into STEM-focused classes or take place after school, on weekends, or during the summer. Held in-person or entirely online.
  • We partner with school districts, library networks and afterschool programs to launch Clubs in communities across the country.
  • Sisterhood
Join a safe and supportive environment of peers and role models where students learn to see themselves as computer scientists.
  • Code
Learn the foundations of code to nurture and apply computational thinking and problem-solving skills in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
  • Impact
Build projects that address real challenges through project-based learning and industry-relevant technology and tools.
    • Grades 3-5
Club members explore foundational computer science concepts and practice computational thinking skills through hands-on activities that connect to their daily lives. Our updated curriculum includes a new AI Literacy Unit using Teachable Machine and a growing library of Intro to Coding courses in our new block-based coding editor.
    • Grades 6-12
Club members can choose their own learning paths by selecting from a library of self-guided video tutorials covering a variety of coding languages. Our project-based Clubs curriculum covers popular tech industry topics including web development, cybersecurity, game design, and artificial intelligence (AI).

    AI LITERACY
Students learn foundational lessons on AI and machine learning concepts including feature extraction, pattern recognition, and training data.

10 plugged and unplugged lessons build students’ understanding of how AI works and the real-world impact and considerations of AI.

    EMERGING TECH ZINE

A zine series designed to introduce our younger Club members to current topics in emerging technology through hands-on activities and playful stories.

In our first volume, students join four robots on a journey to explore artificial intelligence through fun games and activities. Students explore how AI works using data and patterns, learn from real-world examples, and meet a Girls Who Code alumna working in AI.

"I was given the opportunity to talk to women who have successful careers in the field. They made me understand that computer science isn’t just about 1’s and 0’s, it’s about combining your interests with technology to better the future."
    Myisha Kinberg, Alum

    BECOME A FACILITATOR

Are you ready to start a virtual or in-person Club in your community by becoming a Girls Who Code Facilitator? Facilitators are teachers, librarians, parents, and volunteers from any background or field. Many Facilitators have no technical experience and learn to code alongside their Club members.

We provide everything you need to lead a Club with confidence. Facilitators receive a dedicated Program Implementation Specialist to answer questions, share ideas, and celebrate your Club’s successes.

Access our Facilitator Toolkit with step-by-step checklists, trainings, and guides that build your skills along the way.
