Facilitate a Club

Lead Club girls through the Girls Who Code curriculum! Facilitators are passionate about our mission and have 3-4 volunteer hours available each week during the academic year, including travel & prep time. Our self-guided curriculum is designed so that anyone with teaching experience can facilitate a Club; no computer science experience is needed!

What We’re Looking For

You are:

  • 18+
  • Available 3-4 hours per week, including travel & prep time
  • Have some experience teaching (ex: Teacher, TA, or volunteer)

Our Facilitators come from a range of backgrounds, including faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, and young professionals. No computer science experience is needed to facilitate a Club!

What You’ll Facilitate

You’ll facilitate a project-based curriculum that teaches girls to use computer science to impact their community and help provide a supportive sisterhood of peers and role models within the Club to sustain their interest in computer science. The broad set of skills Clubs teach include:

  • Teamwork
  • Confidence
  • Time Management
  • Communication
  • Functions
  • Variables
  • Conditionals
  • Loops

Where You’ll Facilitate

Find a Club in your area that needs a Facilitator! Some of our Club Sponsors can supply space and computers but need a Facilitator like you to walk the Club through the curriculum each week. Find Clubs that need a Facilitator on the Facilitator application.
