Technology is changing everything about the way we live and work, but girls are being left behind. Fewer than 1 in 4 computer scientists are women — and that number is declining. Girls Who Code is changing that. Girls Who Code Campus offers beginner and advanced courses for middle and high school girls — in a condensed 2-week timeline for busy summer schedules.
The girls-first environment in Campus courses gives girls a supportive network of other kids like them! Focus on coding challenges, team projects, and new skills while making friends with other girls who code from your community. Participate in sisterhood activities to build bonds with your cohort, and spend time learning about inspirational women in tech who have led the way.
Get an Edge for College
Girls will build projects they’re proud to share on resumes and college applications about issues they care about. They will explore new technologies and develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to become a software developer or pursue different roles in the tech industry. Build confidence for more advanced high school courses, and get ready for all that college has to offer!
Amazing Instructors Lead the Way
Instructors for Campus courses are teachers and technologists with a passion for bridging the gender gap in tech. They go through Girls Who Code training before leading Campus and bring their expertise and enthusiasm to the classroom. They encourage girls to step outside their coding comfort zone to develop new technical, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills.
Bring Your Ideas to Life
Campus courses encourage girls to be observers of their own lives and to apply technology to the problems that they see. Girls pitch and build final projects that address social issues like climate change, bullying, and stereotype threat. Along the way, they learn about project management, real-world development practices, and team dynamics.
